All have a similar style to them, an artful richness to the embossing, embroidering, and dye.]

[He offers the feed a winning smile and a loose, fluid gesture to the assortmant of leather wares, a bit of a 'there you have it' in the motion.]

As I've had plenty of time on my hands the past few months and the means to do so I've made a few items too many while experimenting with different techinques of leather working and find I've a talent for it. The workmanship is solid if I do say so myself and I would be willing to do custom orders if you wished for something more lasting and complicated. If you see anything here that you like, please let me know and I will wrap and send it to you. If you want something made for a special occasion let me know where to meet with you so we may discuss the particulars. I promise I am quite discreet-

[There's a loud, somewhat unpleasant squwacks from just offcamera. Zevran sighs and mutters under his breath in Antivan, reaching behind him to lift up an ungainly lump of grey down and flailing limbs. The little raven screeches once he rolls about Zevran's palm, nipping at his fingers.]

This little uccello's name is Savio. He is not much to look at, I know, but he's a clever thing for a mass of feathers and talons. Perhaps in another month he will be more handsome, yes?

Out of curiosity, where are you getting the leather from?

You don't have anything that could work for hunting with a bow and arrow, do you?

Deer, mostly. There aren't many cows in the woods from which to work but if treated properly and with great patience, you can get a similar durability out of deerskin. The gloves and more delicate peices came from rabbits.

[Allow him a moment to feed Savio a bit of something before he answers.]

An archer's glove and arm guard so you do not give yourself a mighty welt should you misjudge your draw? I have nothing that would fit you offhand but I've leather enough to maake something for you.

I see. I take it the wildlife population in the forests are stable enough for occasional hunting?

As we come into spring, quite. I know myself and at least two others have been hunting regularly for about a year and some change.

Do you guys ever trade the meat?

Do you have anything that can help protect our wings, but isn't too bulky?

Katniss salts and stores hers- I store a fair share and give the rest to the tavern for their needs. The last thing I would want is to waste the beast.

Do you wish it to be worn below or a above clothing- do you wish it to be jointed so you can still move your wings, or do you wish it something that you use to strap them to your back and cushion them comfortably?

I'd appreciate it. I don't expect to go out till it gets a bit warmer, so there's no rush or anything. Do you need me to come in for measurements?

Hmm, ideally I'd like to ensure that they won't be easily accessible during combat, and will be well cushioned. [ A beat. ] So, I suppose the latter would work better.

Come over sometime for dinner and I shall sketch out a glove for you. And do not mock Savio- I hatched him myself and have been hand raising him. He will be quite fine once the feathers fill in.

I have several designs in mind already for the last, actually, depending upon how much of a range of motion you require while wearing it one might be quicker than the others.

Hey, when a guy's learning, take him out on level 1, which I take to mean warmer weather.

I'll need full range of motion, if possible. Ideally, it should also be able to fit underneath a flak vest for extra protection.

No, he'd have his black feathers in. He is but a few weeks old. Still but a child.

Mmm. That will take longer to design, but is not impossible. The question is less about the covering for the wings and more the placement of the straps as to not restrict movement while not sacrivicing a secure fit. We may have to work through more than one version to find the right arrangement.

Mm, I see. That's fine.

[ A pause. ]

Well, more power to you. Though I guess this means I need to take all the sparkly stuff out of my wardrobe now if he's going to be flying around soon.

Honestly? I cannot think of anything. This is work that I enjoy and it keeps my hands and mind busy. A project such as this would benefit more than just you or me should we be called into a large mission or draft. Perhaps the work is it's own reward-

And that is something I never thought I would ever hear myself say.

Working with leather was a good way to pass the time between missions. Taking a long job at a tannery certianly helped me refine my personal process. Besides. It helps me make something of use from the hides I have stored from my hunting.
